Citadel Festival 2017

Citadel Festival - Sunday 16th July

On Sunday 16th July, 110,000 festival-goers descended to Victoria Park for music and entertainment, and the most successful Citadel  festival yet. Pitching up at the festivals for the first time ever, Wines from Rioja brought the Rioja Terrace to thousands of visitors to fuel the fiesta. The brand-new Rioja bar showcased a diverse range of reds, whites and rosés from the region, and offered a relaxed terrace for VIPs at Lovebox, and for all to enjoy at Citadel.

Alongside a list of Rioja wines, ranging from traditional to modern, wine expert and columnist for Metro and Sun on Sunday, Rob Buckhaven, was on hand to offer guests a series of Rioja Sessions. The free wine tastings booked up instantly and guided guests through chilled and mellow Riojas, offering something for everyone. Expert ham carver, Zac Fingal Rock-Innes, from Bar Tozino also carved the finest quality jamón to provide ‘tapitas’ for peckish crowds to accompany their wine. Local food traders also drew attention to Rioja’s ability to match with a variety of dishes, such as gyozas and white Rioja from Rainbo, Mac ‘n’ Cheese with rich reserva from Anna Mae’s, and crisp Rioja Rosado with jerk from Whitey’s.

If you missed us at Citadel Festival, the Rioja Terrace will be popping up at Wilderness Festival from 3rd - 6th August. For tickets and further detials, please visit the website here
