Impress this Mother's Day with our fool-proof Rioja wine and food pairing menu 

 

Perfecting the ultimate Mother’s Day lunch isn’t just about the food, make sure all your dishes are complemented with the right wine pairings too. Getting the perfect balance of flavour can really impact the overall taste and experience. To help, we’ve pulled together an easy-to-follow Mother’s Day menu, guaranteed to impress your guests this weekend, with a selection of inspiring dishes and of course, a variety of Rioja Wine styles to enjoy them with.  

 

-Starter-

Kick-off your menu with a showstopper -  a warm salad with pear, scallop and spicy chorizo from Delicious magazine and serve alongside a Rioja Joven red wine. It might only include a few ingredients but you mustn’t underestimate the complexity of this dish and ability to carry the flavours of light red wine style.

 

-Main-

For main course, we recommend keeping with the fish theme and serving a classic Salmon En Croûte by leading chef, Gordon Ramsay. This is an ideal recipe for multiple guests, and great for leftovers too. Enjoy this centre piece Salmon with a rich and complex oaked white Rioja wine.

 

-Dessert-

For afters, make the most of seasonal produce with these tasty blood orange and polenta cakes with an indulgent ruby syrup by Meera Sodha. Serve the light dessert with a dollop of ice cream and a refreshing unoaked white Rioja.
