  2. Oaked whites
  3. Rosado

  5. Generic wines over £15
  6. Crianza

The 100 wines were selected from over 400 wines which were tasted blind by a distinguished panel of twelve experts including wine buyers, writers and specialists, chaired by Tim Atkin MW and Sarah Jane Evans MW.

Tim Atkin MW comments; “The 10 x 10 tasting highlighted the quality as well as the growing diversity of Spain’s most famous wine region and was a pleasure to judge.” Sarah Jane Evans MW adds; “Diversity. That sums up our tasting. All in all, a tempting snapshot of Rioja in 2015.

Ricardo Aguiriano, Marketing Director for the Consejo Regulador comments: “We are proud of the 10 x 10 selection, and we are excited to be sharing it with the UK trade this November, The UK is our most important market, accounting for 34% of our exports, and we have a strong focus on continuing the positive trend for value growth in this market[1] by celebrating quality and excellence in the category. We were delighted to work with such a knowledgeable and dedicated panel who have developed a list which really draws attention to each individual style the region produces, demonstrating that there is a Rioja for every occasion’

Rioja’s 10 by 10 line up will be available for the wine trade to taste on Tuesday 10th November from 12pm-6pm at Banking Hall, 14 Cornhill, EC3V 3ND.
